This Is DeLaCruz is more than a video series — it’s a movement to recognize and celebrate the people who make live music happen. From the audio engineers and guitar techs to lighting directors, tour managers, and the artists themselves, we tell the real stories of life on the road. These aren’t highlight reels — they’re raw, honest, and deeply human conversations about the craft, the chaos, and the community behind every show.

Founded by former touring audio engineer Nick DeLaCruz, the project was born out of years spent behind the board, watching countless talented individuals work tirelessly without recognition. Nick saw the value in these behind-the-scenes voices — the people who build, shape, and sustain the live music experience night after night. He picked up a camera, started asking questions, and This Is DeLaCruz was born.

What started with a few interviews has evolved into a cross-platform storytelling hub, with full-length documentaries, mini-series, podcast episodes, and social content reaching fans and professionals around the world. We've featured the techs, crew, and artists behind major acts like Madonna, Pantera, Chris Stapleton, Slipknot, Kenny Chesney, and many more — but the focus is never just about fame. It's about what it takes to make the music happen, and what it means to the people who live it.

Our mission is simple: to amplify the voices that often go unheard, both on and off stage. That includes the bands who’ve built their way up from clubs to arenas, and the techs who’ve kept the wheels turning in every city along the way. We cover it all — from production rehearsals and gear talk to mental health, sobriety, and the personal journeys that shape the people behind the scenes.

Nick DeLaCruz

Nick is the founder and force behind This Is DeLaCruz. A former touring audio engineer, Nick spent years on the road with some of the biggest names in music—learning the ins and outs of life behind the scenes. That experience became the spark for this project: a platform to tell the untold stories of the crew, the techs, and the people who keep live music alive. From concept to final cut, every story runs through his hands—and his heart.

Ryan is the mind behind the edit, shaping raw footage into compelling, cinematic storytelling.
